Kareena Kapoor, the poster child for size zero, has gone on record to say that she doesn't believe big is beautiful.
Watching Kareena's fluctuating weight has become something of a national obsession in the past year or three. She's yo-yoed between her ultraslim self in Tashan to the curvier Chammak Challolook.
But it seems she personally subscribes to being thin. A leading daily quotes her as saying: "Being fat is not sexy! Anyone who says that is talking crap. Voluptuous is sexy, but fat is out. Any woman who says she doesn't want to be thin is talking nonsense. It's every girl's dream."
Kareena's famous for her devotion to yoga. And she's also on a strict, tailor-made diet. Bebo's hard work is put on stunning display in the first look of Halkat Jawani, her new song and dance number from Heroine.
But what of Vidya, Sonakshi and the rest of Bollywood's curvier brigade?
Shotgun Jr diplomatically says she doesn't believe everything she reads. Parineeti Chopra, who has made no secret of her battle against the bulge, says she's comfortable in her own skin and loses weight when a role requires it.
And perhaps the biggest advocate of being comfortable with the size you are is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who blithely ignored the cruel comments of her failure to drop the extra baby weight, and told NDTV: "This is reality, this is who I am. I am a mother, this can happen and it happened with me, that's fine. I have never been the one who has endorsed size zero anyways."
