Actor Siddharth is a busy man down south these days. After his Debacle Jabardasth in Telugu, Siddharth’s bilingual NH4 received mixed response in Tamil but bombed in Telugu. Now, the actor pins all his hopes on upcoming romantic entertainer Something Something (Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru in Tamil). Hansika Motwani playing the female lead in the movie. The interesting part of the film is Samantha and Rana Daggubati playing the guest appearance roles. Let’s check out the review for more details…

Story: Premji (Bhrami) is a dating consultant who calls himself the “Love guru”. One day he happens to meet Kumar (SIddharth) who works for a software company and is in love with his co-worker Sanjanna (Hansika Motwani). Premji agrees to help Kumar in getting his true love. How Premji makes Nothing Nothing Kumar to Something Something Kumar in the end forms the rest of the storyline.

Siddharth gives a decent performance in the film and he is known for his Lover Boy image and comedy timing but in this film, it was less exploited as the director wanted his protagonist to have shades of innocentness to the role as well. Hence we can see Siddharth doing funny scenes, and he underplays it well. Brahmanandam is the real deliverer in the acting department with his top-notch comedy timing and dialogue delivery. His one-liners are fantastic as usual and the best scene of him is when he tries to make Siddharth learn how to flirt. The leading lady Hansika Motwani complement them beautifully and her expressions with her cute smile is a plus for her. Hansika sizzled in Bum Bum and the Last song. Ganesh Venkatraman performance is quite average and not much of acting scope for him, as he has very less emotions to display. Cameo from Samantha is Hilarious and Rana Daggubati gets unnoticed. Rest of the characters are supportive.

The story of Something Something is inspired from Hitch, Partner and Choti Si Baat. Sunder C, who has given decent Tamil hits in the past like Ullathai Allitha, Unakkaga Ellam Unakkaga, Arunachalam, Kannan Varuvaan and Anbe Sivam wants to register his popularity in Tollywood, comes up with a film laced with romantic comedy. The movie started off very well, with all the necessary masala ingredients but slowly rolled out to be a very predictable and boring by the end.

What makes the audience a little unsettle is the predictable arrangement of scenes and the plot. Though comedy keeps the audiences entertained, the overall mood and story of the film is fails to engage. The music by C Sathya is decent especially the starting two songs are good. The dialogues in the movie are simply sidesplitting and will have you rolling in your seats for few scenes in the first half.

Survi Verdict: Something Something does entertain us in some sequences but the overall presentation of the screenplay could have been much better. Movie would have worked big time if it had come out a decade ago, but it's a very average film for those who wants to watch a typical commercial entertainer with all the usual masala ingredients thrown into.
